EURORDIS Recommendations on the Integration of European Reference Networks (ERNs) into National Health Systems
ERNs create a clear governance structure for knowledge sharing and care coordination across the EU, but now we need to establish operating mechanisms that will govern their interaction with national health systems, including the organisational processes and structures to support the exchange of knowledge and information with national expert centres and networks and the rules for patient referral.
The Recommendations set out in this paper provide an overview of the most important actions needed to achieve an effective integration of ERNs into national health systems.
